5 easy last-minute ways to celebrate National School Breakfast Week (March 6-10)!

It’s not too late to celebrate National School Breakfast Week (NSBW)! This year’s theme from the School Nutrition Association is “Dig In to School Breakfast.”

Promoting NSBW is a great way to get the school community excited for all the tasty options you offer. Here are some ideas for last-minute planners (we know you’re out there, and besides, you’ve been busy!):

  1. Share the benefits of school breakfast – SNA has infographics, a press release template, and even PowerPoint presentations. You can download them here. If you have a social media account, SNA also has ready-made posts and accompanying graphics.
  2. Print fun activity sheets and coloring sheets for younger students!
  3. Invite teachers, administrators, or other guests to serve breakfast one morning. Or, get brave and reach out to local news anchors and newspaper staff!
  4. Hold a taste test for new breakfast items, or items that haven’t done well on the menu.
  5. Decorate serving lines, carts, and other areas of the cafeteria with NSBW signage and graphics!

It's not too late to get in on the fun. E-mail us at schoolnutrition@illinois.edu and show us how you're celebrating!
